Last evening I had the chance to meet Cinnie. At one point I wondered whether it was going to happen. We set up the appointment for last Monday, but last Friday I found out that I wouldn't be getting out of work on time Monday. So Cinnie worked with me to reschedule for last evening. I emailed her the day before to confirm and she responded with the name of the hotel. So I get to the hotel about 25 minutes early and went to the bar for a drink. About 5 minutes before I was going to call for the room number, Cinnie calls and tells me that an elevator card is needed for the floor she is on. She said to come to a certain floor and she would meet me there. I get there. 5 minutes go by. 10 minutes go by. I call her cell and it goes to vm. A couple of minutes later she calls and says that she didn't see me and then checked the floor above and below. I told her that I was where she asked me to go to. She then asks whether I was indeed at Hotel B. Hotel B? Your email indicated Hotel A. Oh, I switched hotels. Didn't you get my email? Uh, no. I've been to about 3 hotels in this area, but had no idea where Hotel B was. Fortunately that morning I packed the GPS even though I was very familiar with Hotel A. However, when I punched in the name of Hotel B, nothing came up. So I started driving east. I soon found myself stuck in traffic headed for one of the tunnels. I called Cinnie and got the exact street address and found that it was in the opposite direction. Turned around and called her again to give her the GPS ETA. Finally get to Hotel B and she meets me and up to the room we go. About 40 minutes into our hour. Fortunately. I was her last appointment for the day.
