but that would be light years from actually telling what really transpired.
I received a return call from Tigress late in the afternoon to verify the arrangements for meeting. I had made reservations at a nearby seafood restaurant for late afternoon, confirmed that with her and patiently waited for her arrival. An evening of live music would follow dinner.
Earlier than I expected, the call came through that she was waiting in the hotel parking area. Equal parts nervous and excited, I headed out for an evening of good conversation, live music and companionship.
Of course, she was confident and self-assured. This was her territory, playing a role in which she had all the experience. I was the rookie, feeling my way through the first minutes of the adventure like the novice I hated to admit being.
Thank God, Tigress was as attractive as the photos from which I recognized her. I was even more thankful that she was every bit as friendly and gracious as the e-mail communication we’d shared for over two months planning this meeting..
Luckily, knowing the band actually counts for something. A table for two, reserved in my name, awaited us in the most advantageous of viewing spots. We continued the process of familiarity during the time leading up to the start of the opening band, trading seats several times so that her first experience with the band could be seen best as possible. I could feel the barriers start to come down as I began to realize how much I genuinely liked this lady and she, in turn, started to realize that I really was okay- maybe even good company.
I’d like to thank both bands for playing so loudly. It forced us to talk at very close quarters just to be heard. That closeness resulted in that lovely curly black hair gently brushing my face, such an erotic sensation.
Great music, classic people watching, more great music. We both were surprised how much we liked the opening band.. I already knew how much I’d like the main band. I think she was surprised how much she actually liked them. A little of the usual post-show banter with the band took place. Much less than usual, however.
After a somewhat surreal encounter involving a police officer and the lights on my rental vehicle, we finally arrived back at the hotel, blessedly still somewhat sweaty from the warmth of the music club.
