In a moment of clarity she said to me “I have found someone who respects me” and then it was “Chicken Nuggets!” “Poutine!” “I want Big Mac!” I asked the Uber driver to please drive around my mid-town hotel until we found a McDonald's. Aha! There it was I spotted a restaurant and I pointed it out to the Uber driver. It was down a partially closed street. I got of the car and looked at Judy as if she was going to come with me and help me carry stuff. Judy announced “I will stay here. I’m hungry.” The McDonald’s restaurant on St. Catherine also serves as a homeless shelter after midnight and I think it may be a half-way house. I made the mistake of pulling out a wad of 100$s in front of dozens of desperate eyes to buy 30$ worth of junk food. I could feel several sets of eyes boring a hole in me as I waited for my order. I made a break for it with two bags full of crap with zero nutritional value. I quick stepped outside the restaurant. I looked to see if I had a tail. There was no tail but the car was gone. The Uber driver waved at me down at the end of the block. This is where a policemen made him go because of the construction. I ran towards him weighted down by two bags full of junk food and liquids trying to maintain my balance while sliding on the ice. I made it to the car unmolested and then it was off to the hotel.
