Contacting Kristin the very first time was easy and she proved very proactive inviting herself to join me for dinner. Thereafter, however, communications were difficult, even strained. Clearly, Kristin is not a good communicator. She prefers text messaging and it is difficult to follow her from the brief messages when she does respond.
She has e-mail but doesn’t have a computer. She is always running out of cell phone minutes and at times fails to pay her bills so she changes cell phone numbers with increasing frequency. I have written an overly unrealistically positive review of Kristin but having seen her many times, it feels dishonest to allow those accolades to stand and build false expectations in others.
Since we are limited to recounting one and only one episode, we will begin and focus solely upon my first meeting with Kristin. Definitely, my mileage varied dramatically and yours will too! A cursory review of Kristin’s performance in her reviews reveals a long standing history if inconsistency. One should not expect that to change. However, Kristin appears on a downward spiral and this review is submitted in hopes she might pull herself out of it and do a lot better.
Kristin complained that everything takes her a lot longer to do than she expects and other people expects. She is always late and sometimes actually runs days behind. Also, of note, it is recommended that one clarify the nature and extent and expectations from Kristin from the get go. While she advertises specials, she has a lot of inconsistent ads up detailing different donations for the same thing. Be advised; make the transaction as clear as possible at the outset.
I arrived in her neighborhood to pick her up to join me for dinner at one of my favorite table cloth restaurants, but Kristin was very late. While she gave me her address down to the zip code, she did not disclose her unit number. I texted her that I was in her neighborhood but it took her a long time to respond. I finally left her neighborhood and drove up the street to wait elsewhere. Finally, 25 minutes later as I was getting ready to call it off, Kristin texted me. She said she was late and asked how I wanted her to dress, sexy or normal. We were headed out in public so I texted her back to dress like herself!
Apparently, that threw her for a loop and it made deciding what to wear even more difficult. So, another 20 minutes passed before she texted me and told me her unit number and said it was OK for me to pick her up. When I arrived, there were at least two other women there. One, her roommate and partner, answered and said Kristin would be right out.
When she emerged the sun had set and she looked absolutely gorgeous—much nicer than the pictures. However, she was hardly there. She barely greeted me in the dim light of the porch. Nothing, not even a handshake. She was glassy eyed and her face taunt, emotionless. She was dressed in a nice simple top with tight fitting black jeans. She was tall, slender and had long light colored hair.
When we got in my car and began to drive out of her neighborhood (which I had already spent a lot of time driving around and saw the animals in the area), Kristin pleaded with me to watch out for the kittens that were playing in the area. In fact, she couldn’t stop talking about the kittens and their vulnerability even though I was driving very slowly and cautiously.
The tell tale sign began, however, when we got on the highway and I was merging smoothly and accelerating. Suddenly, Kirstin grabbed the steering wheel and screamed. She said something about ‘not being ready to die’ but the reality was by grabbing the steering wheel out of my hands, she putting us in grave danger. I don’t know whether she was seeing things or was paranoid, but I assured her that my car was very capable and she was safe.
