My visit with Shay was so out of the ordinary, it has taken about a week for me to be able to put it into words. Shay is like your best friend's little sister, the cute one who always hung around because she was more interested in what you and her brother were doing than what was up with the girls in her class. You thought she was a great kid, smart and funny to have along, but she was so much younger you didn't think of her in that way. But a few years pass, and you come back to town and look up your old friend. His sister is there, too. She's still sweet and fun and smart, but she's not longer that young and you notice she's sexy, too, and kinda into you. That's Shay: a sweet, sexy, sensual, whip smart young woman that you're immediately comfortable around because it seems as if you've known her for years.
Like many of the scribes who have come before me, I was attracted to Shay because she is clearly not your run-of-the-mill provider. Her recent pictures also drew me in--the danger and mystery of Annie Lennox in the "Here Comes the Rain Again" video was indelibly etched upon my coming of age psyche. Shay's website exudes the promise of going new places, although I admit to being a bit intimidated about where some of those places might be.
All my fears were misplaced, though. After standard screening, we set a time to chat about my expectations and the boundaries I did and didn't want to explore. Incredibly, she figured out what I was looking for, even as I was grasping for the words myself. This was the first time I'd had such a fruitful conversation before my first visit. I'd say I wish more providers would do it, but I can't imagine many would be nearly as intuitive as Shay in our few minutes on the phone. Also, hearing her beautiful light Alabama lilt, made me more excited to meet her.
Since we had a morning meeting, I brought some orange juice with me. She texted me early to let me know she was ready, so when I arrived the room number was quickly forthcoming. I bounded up to her room excited to meet her. Once I entered the room, I knew I was where I belonged.
