I contacted Erica via P411 a year ago. I scheduled a visit for the end of a weeklong stay in Las Vegas. As the date approached, we managed to not finalize the visit. I headed home to SoCal, kind of wondering what happened. I was tired and not really worried about it. I just chalked it up to one of those things. Driving down I-15, leaving Nevada, I get a voicemail on my phone from a private number. I drive on until I stop in Baker. I listened to the voicemail. It’s Erica, apologizing for not contacting me earlier during the week to finalize our visit. She explained, she had free time in the early afternoon, if I still wanted to see her. I was a 100 miles away at this point and knew there was no way I could turn back. Or could I? I was doing the math. It was a ridiculous thing to do; it would add 6 hours to my trip, but I was considering it. Why? Her voice! Erica’s voice is the voice of the mermaid and my ear is the lonely sailor's. Hypnotic, mesmerizing, beckoning me. Did I turn around and go back? Only the VIP reader will know for sure.
