In the 1970s and 80s we all heard the stories. Behind the Iron Curtain, the KGB scoured the countryside, east to west, south to north, looking for the most beautiful young women from East Germany and Czechoslovakia to Vladivostok, and from Dagestan to the Kara Sea. Only the most perfectly beautiful and exotic women were chosen. Whether peasant villagers, or the children of apparatchik, these perfect female specimens were all summoned to Moscow for distribution for special training throughout the empire. Their parents were so proud! They were sent to schools and training facilities that specialized in teaching young women how to speak foreign languages, how to flourish in western society, how to move like a Bolshoi ballerina, how to draw every eye in the room without any effort, and how to please western men sexually in every unimaginable way. (Visualize a room full of lithe models dressed in lingerie practicing oral skills with bananas or cucumbers.) The thought was that they would use these special skills to solicit information (ranging from state secrets to business plans) from western businessmen, politicians, visiting students, and foreign government bureaucrats. These ladies were amazingly successful at their craft! And then the Berlin Wall fell. And the USSR crashed. And everything changed.
Did you ever wonder what happened to these lovely former ingenues? My guess is that they went on with their lives, married well, and had equally handsome children of their own. And I can only imagine that they passed along many of these important skills to their similarly beautiful daughters. Flash forward 30 years. Today, most of these lovely young ladies likely live well in cities like Moscow, Leningrad, Prague, Berlin, and Riga. Luckily for us, a rare few migrated to the US. At least one lives in Washington, DC, and I recently had the pleasure of her company! Non-VIPs, run and make an appointment with Ninna Sky… you will thank me. VIPs, read on.
