Just an FYI post. After dabbling in the hobby for a little over 10 years, I've finally got ripped off by a provider due to the deposit for scheduling appointment. Now, I usually try to find a provider that doesn't require a deposit to schedule; however, that seems to be the standard these days. Due diligence revealed the provider was legit, so I cashapp'd the deposit after some quick and effortless text communication. Fast forward to the day of, no contact from provider. Eventually, she replied stating an emergency had come up. Cool, no problem. I'm not able to reschedule for any other time due to her touring dates and my work schedule, so I requested a return of the deposit. She said she could not refund at the moment, but she will be willing to offer FaceTime or videos as compensation. None of those options interest me, so I insisted on the refund. And....this is where I presume, she blocked me. All my correspondence was respectful and courteous through this entire process beginning to end. Even when it was apparent that theft was occurring. Due to her saying she couldn't return the deposit “at this moment,” I even offered her a few days to send it back. Who knows...
