Review by FLETCHER52, March, 2011
Reports of Flechy’s adventures continue to filter out from the Peshawar which-- as we all know-- derives its name from a Sanskrit word Pushpapura, meaning the city of flowers. Peshawar's flowers, by the way, were mentioned even in Moghal Emperor Babur's memoirs. Coincidentally, I was considerably handsome dressed in baggy trousers and long, loose shirts, wearing bullet studded bandoliers across my chest and a pistol at my side. Remember, I was in the land of Pathans--a completely male-dominated society and felt right at home while following the footsteps of Khushal Khan Khattak, the Pakhtun/Afghan warrior poet. Peshawar is the great Pathan city which I love. Hoary with age and the passage of twenty-five centuries, redolent with the smell of luscious fruit and roasted meat and tobacco smoke, placid and relaxed but pulsating with the rhythmic sound of craftsmen's hammers and horses' hooves, unhurried in its pedestrian pace and horse-carriage traffic, darkened with tall houses, narrow lanes and overhanging balconies, intimate, with its freely intermingling crowd of townsmen, tribals, traders and tourists--this is old Peshawar, the journey's end or at least a long halt, for those traveling up north or coming down from the Middle east or Central Asia, now as centuries before when caravans unloaded in the many caravan-serais now lying deserted outside the dismantled city walls or used as garages by the modern caravans of far-ranging buses. Now, where was I…like the Pakhtun conqueror Sher Shah Suri, I entered Philadelphia for a weekend which had many ups and downs. In order to improve my spirits, I happened upon a truly rare find…a woman who was UTR and my type in so many fashions. Her web site alone had me desiring more. Physically, she is quite frankly what embodies perfection in a woman. She is perfectly proportioned and toned. Her face…well, beautiful. Intellectually, her saber-like wit and sharpness of spirit pulled at my heart-strings. I want her for my own… but alas I am considered by many to be one of the brigands, “willayati“, vermin or “badmashes”. VIP’s, please endure my prose and read on. Non-VIP’s….please trust me, though I am an “Afghan chi-chi”… Miranda is special is every way possible. Though she provides a CBJ and hence by definition must lose a point….she more than compensates in ways which left me spell-bound.
